A rescued Metamec clock with a dead or unreliable original movement. The goal is to fit a modern quartz movement, keeping the original hands, dial, and casing as intact as possible.

Goals

  • Source a replacement quartz movement that matches the original hand-fixing sizes and shaft length
  • Preserve the original dial and casing, with reversible changes where possible
  • Keep the character of the clock, only replacing what no longer works
